Happy New Year from Paradox

We launched Paradox on Aug. 17, 2015 with our very first post, a feminist analysis of Judd Apatow’s “Trainwreck.” (A pretty on-brand debut.)

Since then, Paradox has offered perspectives on everything from student protests at Mizzou to Public Policy Polling’s ridiculous “Agrabah” troll to the vital “how much should you spend getting ready for a baby?” question (Answer: $150. Read the post if you don’t believe us). We’ve scrutinized “Facebook Christianity” and watched “Gilmore Girls” with a pro-life eye.

Some of our favorite moments have included Zach and Natalie Noble’s contribution to Beyond the Bechdel Test, exploring the awesomeness that is the Coen brothers’ “Fargo” and Frances McDormand’s epic turn as seven-months pregnant cop Marge; Jordan Ecarma’s celebration of the huge problem Carly Fiorina has been for liberal feminists this election cycle; and Matthias Shapiro’s defense of LEGO Friends for girly-girls who want to build things.

We’ve also had some amazing articles from featured writers, including when Linzy Laird shared her experiences working in a crisis pregnancy center and our Everyday Faith series to celebrate the season of Christmas.

If you’ve read our words and (we hope) learned something from the nuanced perspectives we strive to offer, thank you. If you’ve listened to our #TerribleOpinions, political and cultural discussions and predictions on the podcast, thank you. If you’ve been one of our contributors, THANK YOU.

We can’t wait to keep being a voice for the “paradoxes,” the misfits, the people who don’t neatly fit into one political “team” but have valuable ideas to offer.

Here’s to 2016.
